Habitat:

Coral habitats in the intertidal zone between 1 and 10 m for adults. Up to 40 m.

The male grouper is the head of a harem consisting of several females.

Recognisable by its brown to dark blue body, dotted with blue ocelli, the peaock hind is protogynous hermaphroditic, meaning that it is first female and then male.
