Tropical Indo-Pacific: Red Sea, East Africa to the Tuamotu Islands, north to southern Japan, south to the Great Barrier Reef and New Caledonia.

Habitat:

Shallow coral reefs, lagoons, rocky areas covered with seaweed. Between 0 and 8 m.

Size:

10 cm, up to 14 cm.

Diet:

Omnivorous, seaweed eater.
