Come to discover Boulogne-sur-Mer, the leading fishing port of France and the largest European Centre for the processing of sea products. The capital of the Côte d'Opale (Opal Coast) has a rich artistic and historical heritage.

You can visit the old town, its belfry listed as World Heritage by UNESCO, cathedral, 13th century ramparts and fortified castle, the best preserved fortification of northern France. The château houses a museum where you can admire a great collection of Etruscan and Ancient Greek vases (the largest collection after that of the Louvre), an Egyptian section devoted to the Egyptologist August MARIETTE, from Boulogne-sur-Mer, and remarkable unique Inuit and Aleut mask collection.

The Grand Army column, 54 metres high, reminds everyone of the city's imperial past, where Napoleon set up military barracks to invade England.

Also come to discover the maritime heritage of Boulogne with its many activities offered all year round and the Maison de la Beurière, an ecomuseum portraying the life of sailors of yesteryear, situated in the former sailors' quarter only a stone's throw from NAUSICAA.
